See, Robert Brady was a collector. He was also very wealthy, which allowed him to go all over the world, collecting pieces of ethnic and indigenous art. And he stored all of the pieces he hoarded in his house.
The house, as usual with houses in Cuernavaca, isn't flashy when you're on the outside, looking into it from the street. You don't see anything. But once you get inside, then you'll see that this house was once inhabited by one who had very special tastes.
In every room, there are plenty of objects that are scattered around. There are pieces of paper that explain what these pieces are, and where they came from. There's definitely too much to digest, and I was more or less floored every time I enter a room. The pieces originate from all over the world, from South America, Africa, as well as from far-flung places like the South Pacific.
The house has two kitchens, an external one and an internal one. If I were cooking in this house, I probably would go berserk given that there's so many objects around, and I won't be able to find my way in the kitchen. I am, after all, more a fan of the minimalist aesthetic.
The bathrooms look like they were designed by someone on acid. Maybe he was.
Finally, the bedrooms. I wouldn't know where I would put my stuff, given that there's already so much stuff lying around.
Anyway, this was nevertheless an interesting place. Definitely not my taste when it comes to interior design, but it was interesting to see how other people decorated their house. Check it out if you can!
