The Evolution of my Hair

The nice thing about hair is that no matter how you experiment on it, it will grow back and therefore will reset whatever you did with it. Unlike with tattoos, hair modifications can be renewed. And I guess because of that fact, I have made so many different hairstyles in the past.

See, I even once shaved my entire head. This was back in 2009, when I did a full year of no hair, shaving it complete. During this period, I even got mistaken by some Filipinos as a Tibetan while riding the train in Oregon. I also had short hair, not so short hair, and even recently, long hair.

Yeah, I don't remember where I got the idea, but I decided not to cut my hair for the longest time. And whenever I did go to cut it, I just trimmed the sides so that they wouldn't look crappy in any case.

So yeah, from spring last year until May early this year, I had longish hair. It was interesting. And after having long hair, I now have more respect for women, who for some reason or another, are dictated by society to wear long hair.

Having long hair is tough, man. It is hard to maintain, you take more time in the shower, and more importantly, it is hot. When it is summer, the hair just clouds your face and suffocates you, unless you do something to keep it out of your face.

So yes, I think I prefer having short hair. But I like the fact that I did try it. I probably won't try it again any time soon, but who knows, I might change my mind in the future.
