One the eve of the midterm elections, even the kids are on edge.

Photojournalist Jake Crandall captured the son of Alabama's democratic gubernatorial nominee Walt Maddox lying down on the tarmac after arriving with his family in Montgomery on Monday.

"Democratic gubernatorial nominee Walt Maddox arrives in Montgomery with his family, his son, Eli, 5, is having a day," Crandall tweeted, along with the photo.

Despite what the photo suggests, Eli was actually very well behaved as the Maddox family was getting off of their plane, according to Crandall.

"He was all smiles the whole time and was quiet for most of the stop [in Montgomery] which included a 10 to 15 minute interview with the press," Crandall said in an email. "Bored might be the best way to describe him or just disinterested in the political talk that he had heard all day."

Fair. I too wish I could lay down during most political discussions.

But, since we don't all have the luxury of dropping to the ground to get away from politics, it's important we all get out there and vote tomorrow.
