The 76th Cannes Film Festival has already given us so much, including hundreds of red carpet outfits—featuring feathered cloaks, dramatic trains, playful menswear, and some truly confounding design choices—and Cate Blanchett saying “VAJAYJAY.” But brace yourselves, because there’s been a full second week of fancy film-related shenanigans.
The Idol premiered at the festival on Monday, bringing out cast members Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), Lily-Rose Depp, and a host of their rich, famous friends wearing gowns that put the Met Gala to shame. The star-studded cast of Wes Anderson’s new film Asteroid City showed up to the premiere Tuesday evening, luring Scarlett Johansson, Adrien Brody, Maya Hawke, and Tom Hanks to the red carpet along with all the glamorous people who came to celebrate them. Jane Fonda came out and said Robert Redford has a problem with women. And a Spice Girl showed up to Saturday’s closing ceremony red carpet in what looks like a wedding dress.
