The few months that Colonel Sanders was the voice behind the turn-by-turn directions in my car were some of my favorite times behind the wheel. A few years later C-390 helped me navigate across the country which was also a lot of fun, but his jokes about road construction almost scored me a ticket in New Mexico (Long story -I was laughing, the police officer thought I was doing something else), so he got the boot shortly after.

Now Waze is offering another unusual way to get yourself to work: directions from Cookie Monster.

To change the voice in your app launch Waze and then tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left side of the page. From there, tap the Settings button at the top left and then select “Voice & sound” from the menu.

That will bring you to the Voice menu. Tap “Waze Voice” to see all your options. Cookie is close to the top, but you can also options in other languages, or one of Waze’s other English options.

One personal recommendation: I’d stay away from “Boy Band,” that’s the only one I’ve ever used that prompted my boyfriend to threatened to throw the phone out the window. He was right in that suggestion.
