BASILYSK is a Philadelphia-based death metal four piece who play an unrelenting style of old school brutality with a progressive twist, that will appeal to fans of Morbid Angel, Death, Dissection and Outer Heaven.

Formed by vocalist and maniacal guitarist Josh Perrin, Basilysk released their first album Seasons of Misanthropy in 2012. The band reignited with a new line up in 2016, and quickly scorched the East Coast with their style of ferocious guitar compositions, frenetic drums, and intensely personal lyrics. Basilysk’s complex song structures lead the listener through a serpentine maze, with a palpable sense of aggression at every turn.

Basilysk released the album’s first single “Sinners Of Their Own Reality”, in October 2018 through Decibel Magazine.

“The new single ‘Sinners’ is only a morsel of the long-awaited feast set to hit in late 2018,” says Basilysk’s Josh Perrin. “Our new album, Emergence, will offer fans of old school death metal the second coming they have long prayed for. Emergence stands as a testament to Metal Gods worldwide – technical, progressive and thoroughly vicious.”
