What Non-Kid Songs Do You Listen to With Your Kids?

My 5-year-old daughter’s favorite songs at the moment include Weezer’s “Surf Wax America,” Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and Matisyahu’s “One Day.” What my husband and I realized early on is that while kid music has evolved beyond peppy Barney choruses—and some of it is truly great—we didn’t need to alter our playlists too much for her little ears. She’ll happily jam to whatever is piping through the speakers.

For an upcoming episode of The Upgrade, we want to know: What non-kid songs do you listen to with your kids? Does your preschooler belt out the lyrics to “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath? Is your mini Queen fan playing “Bohemian Rhapsody” on repeat? Have you, too, watched the video for OK Go’s “This Too Shall Pass” 87 times? Let us know by either commenting here, sending a voice memo to [email protected], or calling (347) 687-8109 with your response. We’re looking for specific songs—not artists or genres—so we can create a playlist of our favorites. Tell us, what tracks are your kids into?
