How's Your Core Feeling After This Month's Fitness Challenge?

Roll up those yoga mats and hop down from the pull-up bar—our month of creative core exercises is over.

How was it? Did you discover a new favorite exercise? I kind of love some of the hanging ones, and will keep some of the knee raise variations in my repertoire. Then again, perhaps you made a new enemy. What was the worst? Did it hurt in a good way or is it just boring as hell?

Exploring new variations on an exercise isn’t just about finding something new to add to the routine, but it can also serve as a kind of introspection about what motivates you physically and mentally. I don’t mind moves that are tricky to execute or teeth-gritting to endure, so long as they’re over quickly. A plank to me is like a treadmill run: nothing changes, except my mindset. I convince myself I can’t keep it up any longer, even if my body is fully capable. Our brains and bodies are weird. What did you learn about yourself this month?
