Victoria's Secret CEO Resigns After Rough Week for the Company

Latest

Victoria’s Secret’s CEO Jan Singer abruptly resigned on Wednesday after just two years in the role, Bloomberg reports.

Singer, who previously worked at Spanx and Nike, was originally hired to rework Victoria’s Secret’s lingerie offerings, with Bloomberg reporting that she wanted to push the company into the fast-fashion market with lower-cost underwear.

But Singer’s resignation comes after a particularly rough week for the company. Just last week the label’s CMO Ed Razek made headlines with some offensive comments about who Victoria’s Secret sells and markets to (read: just size 0 conventionally hot women) which led to calls to boycott the company. For many women like myself, Razek’s comments were just another reminder that Victoria’s Secret simply does not care to meet the needs of everyday women.
