GOP Economic Policy Is Unfair To The Bottom 90%

This chart, from the Economic Policy Institute, illustrates how unfair Republican economic policy has been to most of America. The bottom 90% of Americans have seen their wages grow by only 23.9% since 1979 (after the GOP seized power in 1980 and changed the policy to favor the rich). That 23.9% has been more than eaten up by several decades of inflation, leaving them worse off than they were 40 years ago.

How much has the GOP policy favored the rich? The top 1% has seen their income climb by 157.8%, and the top 0.1% has seen theirs grow by 340.7%. The 95th to 99th percentile hasn't done too badly either, with income growth of 73.1%.

The Republicans claim that when the rich do better, everyone does better -- because some of that increase in income for the rich will trickle down to others. Obviously, that has not happened.

We need an economic policy that will be fair to everyone. That won't happen until the Republicans are voted out of power. Remember this chart when you got to vote in 2020!
