Over at the New York Times, reporter Julie Weed described the difficulties of finding cheap airfare when it’s you versus airline software technology, which changes airfare prices multiple times a day to benefit the airline. The greatest takeaway? There’s no single “right time” to buy a flight, given the fluctuating prices.

Still, there might be one exception: airline sales. And right now, Southwest is having another major sale on flights through May. This means that for as little as $59, you can fly from San Francisco to Burbank on a one-way ticket.

As with most airline sales, there are a few catches. For one, you’ll have to be pretty flexible with your travel dates, as some fare deals require that you fly out on certain weekdays and avoid heavy travel days like Fridays and Sundays. And fares are nonrefundable, meaning you won’t be able to change or cancel your flight as easily as you would through the airline’s existing policy.

Curious where you can fly on the cheap? Below, a few noteworthy deals from the sale:

  • Boston to Baltimore: $59

  • Burbank to San Francisco: $59

  • El Paso to Phoenix: $59

  • Dallas to Little Rock: $69

  • Chicago to Cincinnati: $78

To view the rest of the deals, head to Southwest’s website and be sure to book before midnight PT on Thursday. Trying to avoid being seated beside an inconsolable infant? We have a few ideas.
