WATCH: "The View" Hostess Sunny Hostin Claims Jesus Would Attend a Gay Pride Parade

People on the left sure do like to promote the idea that Jesus would back causes that are specifically frowned upon in the Bible. Alyssa Milano tried to convince Christians that God is cool with abortion, and now we have “The View” hostess Sunny Hostin trying to tell us that Jesus would attend a gay pride parade.

On Monday, “The View” was celebrating pride month when the conversation fell on a tweet from Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin of Rhode Island, who dissuaded his fellow Catholics from taking part in the festivities, as it’s against Catholic doctrines and his harmful toward children.

“A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ “Pride Month” events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children,” tweeted Tobin.

Hostin has a serious hot take on Tobin’s tweet.

“I’m so glad you brought that up because I was on Twitter this weekend and I read this tweet by the Bishop Tobin who is a Catholic bishop,” Hostin said. “And he comes out, and he says that he wants to remind all Catholics not to support or engage in any pride, participate in any pride, parades or anything supporting the LGBTQ community because it’s against Christian values and it is harmful to children.”

“And I tweeted out that my Catholic children will be attending pride events as this Catholic will,” Hostin said to applause. ” And you know, my faith always taught me what would Jesus do? And I know Jesus would be attending that pride parade, with pride.”

Hostin then attempted to justify her position by bringing up the sexual abuse of children within the church.

“And I also know that God is love, Jesus is love, love is love,” Hostin continued. “For a Catholic bishop to come out and say something like that given the history of pedophilia in the Catholic church, given what the Catholic church has hidden about the abuse of children, some would say that being at a pride parade would be much safer for a child than it has been to be in a Catholic church for many years.”

Hostin is absolutely wrong, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church as reported by the Daily Wire. It does call homosexuality a sin, but also tells Catholics that homosexuals must be treated with kindness and respec:

Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

In effect, Hostin is creating her own take on Catholicism, as well as her own take on Jesus. If Jesus did show up to a gay pride parade, it wouldn’t be to promote the LGBT causes. Hey might show up, but it wouldn’t be with “pride,” at least not in the engagement and promotion of homosexuality.
