Not even mother nature can come between a child and their new toy.

One dedicated dad in Alaska was forced to brave a formidable sheet of ice on the family's driveway in order to bring his three-year-old a toy kitchen she'd been looking forward to getting for quite some time.

After a bunch of freezing rain fell on their small town outside of Anchorage, everything was covered in a thick layer of ice -- including little Adalynn's new toy that was in the back of the family's truck. Her dad, Kyle, went on a rescue mission, which led to him sliding all over their driveway and into the street.

His treacherous walk paid off: Kyle overcame the slippery conditions and was able to deliver Adalynn her long-awaited kitchen. He's now a strong contender for "Dad of the Year."
