20 grüne Hauptwege: Trail 6 - Linderberger Korridor (17 km)

The 20 Green Trails of Berlin allow me to discover far-flung areas of the city. The 6th trail for example, takes me to Wartenberg, deep in the eastern sections of Berlin.

In order to get to the trail head, I had to ride a train and then a bus all the way to the city border. It is perhaps one of the more remote areas of Berlin, and it is definitely not a convenient place to live in case you have no car.
I thought that some of the houses here were actually rather neat, and so if you have your own car and you want peace and quiet, then this is probably a nice place to live. That said, I still like the fact that there are plenty of amenities in my neighbourhood, so I still prefer living within the city.
The trail this time goes past several high-rise apartment buildings, as these are standard features of East Berlin. It also goes next to some massively large pipes.
Eventually, the trail hits Lichtenberg, which is a district of Berlin. It skirts a rather nice-looking hospital complex, and passes by several very old houses.
Eventually, it heads further south, exiting Lichtenberg and goes to Rummelsburg. It terminates at the Spree, at Stralau, with gorgeous views of the water. As I tackled this trail back in autumn, the leaves were in their fiery red colour, and so it was a very pleasant view.
