New: Free Blogging Course

We have released a free course to help aspiring bloggers and content creators develop smart strategies and launch their sites.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since we launched WPCourses.com! In that short time, we’ve been incredibly inspired by the group of ambitious learners we have been able to work with. In fact, we’ve been so moved by the enthusiasm of the community we’ve built so far that we want to ensure this experience is available to as many people as possible.

So we’re happy to announce the launch of our very first free course, Intro to Blogging. In this course you’ll learn about:

  • What blogging is and why so many people are doing it.
  • How to set up, navigate, and manage your blog or website.
  • How to create blog content like a pro and create a site people love to visit.
  • How to identify your audience, set goals, and build your own blogging strategy.

By signing up you’ll get access to our course platform where you can work through each lesson at your own pace and take your time to really put that information to use as you build, design, or revamp your site.

We also used our time building out the free course as an opportunity to improve our existing content. We went back through all of our resources, added new lessons and tips, and expanded our curriculum to make sure participants are fully equipped with the most up-to-date set of tools, strategies, and best practices. Our rapid courses offer a more hands-on learning experience where you’ll benefit from:

  • Helpful tips and tricks that are shared and discussed every week.
  • Prompts and ideas to help you get unstuck when you need it.
  • A community of peers who grow and learn with you.
  • Weekly office hours when you can chat with experts and ask questions in real time.
  • Quarterly meetups led by true industry experts to ensure you’re using the best tools and strategies to grow.

As a way to celebrate the launch of our free course, we’re also offering 25% off our paid courses— just use the coupon code below at checkout. You’ll get access to the course and the community for a full year so feel free to jump in when you’re ready.

I signed up for your FREE blogging course, and all I can get is to pay for the course. Where is the free course?

    Dear WordPress,

This course sounds as if it may help me, but I wonder whether if would in fact meet my needs. My problem is: I have a website, which was built for my by a designer. I employed them to build it for me, as (a) It would have taken me much longer, and (b) although I have used a personal computer since the first ones became available in the early 1980’s, I find modern systems such as WordPress and Elementor difficult to understand.

My designer chose to use Elementor, via the WordPress platform, and hereby lies my problem. I did manage to add content to my landing page, and to add one article to my Blog page. However, after a stressed few hours of work, I could not add another blog. I was able to format it in Elementor, but no amount of trying on my part would persuade the programme to post it on my site. Also, the change I made to my landing page does not appear correctly (as I thought I had formatted it).

If I take your course, should I try to find some way of maintaining my site and adding new material via WordPress, without having to re-format the existing Elementor-based material?

Alternatively, will you course enable me to understand and use Elementor without problems?

I should add that I am happy with the look of my site, and the only changes I would want to make would be to update the information and add new material.

I should be grateful for your help.

    Thank you,

Anne Greening (writing as Andy Patrick).

Sorry for the delayed response. Our courses don’t cover Elementor specifically but walk you through the basics of setting up your site. I know there are a number of Elementor-specific resources out there to help you learn how it’s set up and how it works. If you’re still stuck, you can reach out to our team about migrating that site over to a new theme and getting it set up to look the way you want it.

We do cover that in the course content but it’s a broad topic so think of it as writing for the web. It could be storytelling, could be advice, or it could just be observations. Check out the free course and let us know if you feel like that didn’t cover it well enough.
