A Brooklyn woman was followed home from the train last night and sexually abused, according to the authorities who are now investigating the incident.

The NYPD says that officers responded to an attempted sexual assault call at around 10:30 p.m. last night in Greenwood Heights. An unnamed 38-year-old woman told the cops that a man followed her from the 25th Street subway station in Brooklyn back to her 31st Street apartment building, and then followed her inside.

While on the stairs, the man allegedly grabbed the victim where a struggle ensued. The woman fell on the stairs, and, police say, the suspect allegedly "left a sample of himself on the victim," before fleeing the scene. The woman sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

An NYPD spokesman said investigation by the Special Victim Squad is ongoing.
