Today the Nêhiyaw singer-songwriter born and raised in Treaty 6 Territory (Alberta) Wyatt C. Louis dropped the track called Carefree.
The fourth single is taken from the upcoming debut album called Chandler which comes out on May 24, 2024 via Royal Mountain Records.
An Andy Shauf-esque folky poppy tune.
About the track by Wyatt:
With enveloping clarinet and Wyatt’s signature syrupy vocals, “Carefree” is a track to be enjoyed with that first sip of coffee in the morning before the day fully begins.
It comes off the back of a US tour with Noah Reid, along with shows with William Prince and Kacy & Clayton, and Wyatt describes the track as “not necessarily about being free of your worries, but rather finding those little pockets of clarity.
It’s about the desire to get to a point where you can let your guard down, a simple check in that provides the space to take a breath, and find a sense of direction when things feel uncertain.”
