Though it’s rumored that Niall Horan will be the first member of One Direction to put out a solo album, his bandmate Harry Styles might not be too far behind.

Billboard reports that Styles has inked a solo deal with Columbia Records, the same label that puts out 1D’s albums. It’s unclear how close the newly shorn singer is to actually recording and releasing his own music, but it sounds like the process of branching off from the band is underway.

One Direction are currently on hiatus with no concrete plans to release new music anytime soon. Former member Zayn Malik, who left the group in 2015, released his solo debut Mind of Mine in March.

Styles, meanwhile, is busy working on his acting career; he’s currently filming Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming drama, Dunkirk.
