If you’re a fan of playing golf, then you know being part of a club with a decent course can be a bit… expensive. GolfPass is a new mobile app-based monthly membership/subscription service that allows you to pay once and get access to all of its network’s golf courses.
Members can select from three different membership levels, each of which give them credits that can be used to book tee times at any of the courses the app partners with.
When you arrive at the course you must check-in within the iOS app, tell the pro shop the tee time you selected, and swing away.
Pricing varies pretty widely depending on how much you intend on playing. The bottom tier of service, named Par (natch), is $79 which gets you two credits a month, enough to play 1-2 rounds of golf a month. The second Birdie tier is $149 and includes four credits, enough to play 3-4 sounds a month, and the top tier, Ace, is $189 and includes 8 credits, enough to play 6-8 rounds of golf a month.
Worth noting, the service is only available in four states right now: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
From what I can tell you also have to commit to a membership before you can actually see what clubs you’re going to get access to, which makes it a bit of a crapshoot. That said, depending on what you’re paying now for access, the service could be a hole in one (ha!).
