British coachbuilder David Brown Automotive took the wraps off its new Speedback Silverstone Edition in Geneva, an ultra- luxury GT that builds on the 510-hp Speedback GT and celebrates the one-year anniversary of moving its headquarters and coachbuilding facility to the historic racing circuit of the same name.

Just 10 examples are planned to be built by hand, with the car priced at £620,000, or about $861,000 at current exchange rates. Cars will be built to order in either left- or right-hand drive setups.

The Silverstone Edition is powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that makes 601 horsepower and 565 pound-feet of torque, making for the most powerful, performance-focused powertrain ever undertaken by DB. It takes the driver from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and bears a limited top speed of 155 mph. The Speedback Silverstone features a six-speed ZF automatic transmission driven through the rear wheels. There's also an upgraded suspension system, a fully automated dynamic stability control system, safety tech, performance brakes and active rear differential.

The design mines aeronautics and racing for inspiration, with a streamlined stance, extended side skirts, larger side vents, a front spoiler and enhanced rear diffuser, plus jet-inspired exhaust tips to hone the race-tuned engine note. It comes with forged 20-inch "Afterburner" bespoke designed alloy wheels and a bespoke patter grille punctuated by two LED auxiliary head lamps to enhance visibility.

Interior elements are inspired by the 1960s, with plenty of leather, Kvadrat and Alcantara fabrics (like the Range Rover Velar), premium wood veneer, metal inlay on the dash and brushed chrome finish. But it's got a modern infotainment system, complete with satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

The Speedback Silverstone Edition adds to the Speedback GT and the Mini Remastered in the David Brown lineup.
