This is so unbelievably sad and disturbing to watch. I ran across this post on FB which lead me to YouTube to watch Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia heroin/tranqed out street zombies. I did not understand why these people were just slumping over while standing and showed it to Matt. He said, "oh yeah, that is called Nodding Out, I see it all the time in Everett".
Because I don't travel to downtown much anymore, I am shocked when I see all the homeless tents and trash that line the highways. I have never understood this level of addiction. I did not understand when my brother was dying of it. Mental health issues or drug-induced mental health issues? As much as mom and I tried to help my brother out of his addiction ... we failed.
Humanity at its lowest as one guy called it. Everyone calls it insane, agreed. But what is to be done? If you try to help them ease through their addiction, you are a liberal enabler if you abruptly clean up the tent cities then people are up in arms. If you give them safe places to live ... people are upset.
I watched videos of parents of football players, honor students, dying of Fentanyl. One family with High School and college students, looking very normal, had THREE of their sons die of an overdose.
The latest federal data show more than 109,000 drug deaths in 2022, many from fentanyl. Drug deaths nationwide hit a new record in 2022. 109,680 people died as the fentanyl crisis continued to deepen, according to preliminary data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

I think we have an old man sleeping on the Library lawn. Wearing a suit button down shirt and a tie.
Another brown skinned guy collecting cans to get the 5 cents. Almost naked.
And a pink suited Republican woman telling us to take off our masks....well, past years...not anymore.
