A dead man was found in a Lower East Side bathroom late on Friday night, police say.

According to police, they responded to a 911 call about an unconscious man on the 3rd floor of 139 Ludlow Street shortly after 11 p.m. last night. When police arrived, they found the 31-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive in a bathroom of the building. EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene. The cause of death is still being determined by the Medical Examiner, but a source told Gothamist that the man was found with a needle in his hand.

The man's identity is pending until his family is notified. A source told the News that heroin was also found near the man's body, as well as tools to heat the drug up. 139 Ludlow Street is the same address of the Ludlow House, the recently-opened offshoot of the SoHo House. The Ludlow House website mentions that members have access to four floors in the club, as well as the rooftop. Ludlow House did not have a comment on the matter at this time.
