Wu-Tang Clan Joins a Tribute to The Source in Brooklyn

The Source, a music and culture magazine that has been an important voice in the development and chronicling of hip-hop, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with Source360, a concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which the magazine says will be an annual event.

For the first installment, on Sept. 20, the headliners are the Wu-Tang Clan, in what the magazine is promoting as the group’s “official reunion” — a recent appearance on “The Daily Show” and tour performances leading up to the Barclays concert notwithstanding.

“This show is our first time in Brooklyn as a whole in over 15 years,” the rapper and multi-instrumentalist RZA explained in an email forwarded by his manager. “With 4 members being born in that part of New York, there is a strong connection with us to that city. We have been touring sparsely through out the year with partial members making and not making their appearance, but this performance will have every surviving member present.”

Also on the bill: the Diplomats, in their first performance in three years, as well as Lil’ Kim, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Dom Kennedy and Currensy. The magazine said that more performers will be announced closer to the concert.
