So: you love taking pictures on your phone and want to upgrade to some fancier equipment. But where do you start? How do you know how much to spend on a camera? And where will you go to take great pictures?

It can be pretty overwhelming to start the search for a professional-grade DSLR and figure out just how much to spend on your new hobby. This is a guide for someone who wants to take and share cool pictures, without being, well, a dick about it—you don’t need filters, a huge lens kit, or a sponsor to send you to Iceland to capture a decent image.
