J. Cole has a new documentary called Eyez, a mostly laid-back portrait of the creation of his forthcoming album, 4 Your Eyez Only. But he's also shared two new songs, and he appears to lob some razor-sharp barbs at a few of his rap peers.

Included within the 40-minute Tidal documentary are videos for two new songs where Cole rides around the streets of New York, first on the top of a pickup truck and then on a city bus, reflecting on the present-day rap landscape.

"Clap at the fake deep rappers, the O.G. gate-keep rappers / The 'would you take a break please?' rappers," he raps. "Bunch of words and they saying shit / I hate these rappers / Especially the immature eight-week rappers / Lil whatever, just another short bus rapper."

In the documentary's second song, apparently called "False Prophets," Cole spits bars that some listeners have taken to be shots at Kanye West.

"Ego in charge of every move / He's a star and we can't look away due to the days that he caught our hearts," Cole raps. "He's falling apart but we deny it / Just to find that shitty half-assed drop, we always buy it / When he tell us he a genius but it's clearer lately / It's been hard for him to look into the mirror lately."

Cole makes a "crazy" hand gesture when he says "genius," hinting that he could be making a reference to Kanye's song "Feedback" with its line, "Name one genius that ain't crazy."

Later in the song, Cole interrogates his own hero-worship and possibly spills some tea in Drake's direction: "Maybe it's my fault for idolizing n---as based off the words they be rapping / Come to find out these n---as don't even write they shit / Hear some new style bubbling up then they bite that shit."

Drake came under fire recently for allegedly using ghostwriters and for adopting a Jamaican dancehall sound on singles like "One Dance." He also dropped a song with Kanye called "Pop Style."

Discussing his process elsewhere in the documentary, Cole says that he's about to "take this opportunity to say the realest shit I've ever said." Clearly, he didn't waste his chance.
