Gearing up to travel

Each year Kinsey tries to take at least two trips in our RV which she calls Clementine. Here in Montana there are only six months to get the trips in, if you are lucky. Kinsey prefers to get the trips in before the tourists arrive and after they thin out. Our spring trip this year was to St. Mary on the Blackfeet Reservation and in July we took a quick trip to the Blackfeet Pow Wow in Browning. This is the first in a series of posts recounting our experiences on the trip we just finished to Yellowstone and the Tetons.

Clementine
Don't ask me why she names all her vehicles. It's just what she does. Clementine is a Winnebago View. Kinsey calls it her "chick rig" because she says it's just perfect for a gal and her dog. I heard somewhere that using the term "gal" is not politically correct. Kinsey doesn't feel that way about it. Just so you know I'm not dissing my gal pal. Actually, I think Clementine a bit on the small side. It's very difficult to get up a full head of steam in 24 feet.

The plan was that we would be gone for about two weeks. First stop West Yellowstone and then on down to Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons. After those two stops we were kind of free lancing.

Based on what Kinsey loaded into the RV I think we could have stayed out for two months. It was kind of comical really. She made so many trips back and forth to the rig I nearly got dizzy just watching. Just as long as she got in enough vittles for me I was more than happy. But, wow, you should have seen all the vittles she took for herself.

No chance of starving
And clothes, arm loads of clothes. Yet, she seldom wears anything but her denims, hiking shirts and boots. She says she like options. Boy, does she pack away the options! I suppose since we have the room there's nothing wrong with using it. In any event it took her two days to get everything just the way she wanted it. So much planning and organizing it's kind of like a rocket launch.

Next up "Houston we Have lift Off" as we steam roll our way to West Yellowstone.

Ciao for now.
