Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been dating her boyfriend for almost four years now and apparently her mother wants to know why they don’t just get married already. “I hope they get married soon,” Blanca Ocasio-Cortez told the Daily Mail. MoooOOOooommmmm.
As she’s been elected to Congress, started her career as one of the most progressive lawmakers on the House of Representatives, and used social media to share her nightly skincare routine, Ocasio-Cortez’s boyfriend has stayed largely behind-the-scenes. Riley Roberts, which is his name, is very tall and a ginger, though, so it’s hard for him not to pop up in photos sometimes, like when he attended her swearing-in ceremony.
The mom pressure is also apparently a tag-team thing: the Washington Post reports that Constance Roberts said marriage was “Everything grandmothers want to have” and that she said it coyly.
