There's something about "lifehack" posts that make the internet go a little wild. Sure, we all want our daily lives and chores to be a little easier, but is it really a "hack" if it takes a million steps? Or if there's a secret to the hack that isn't revealed.

Chef Glen Powell from the YouTube channel Glen & Friends Cooking is here to expose what really goes into the most recent kitchen hack, the viral garlic peeling trick.

"Like any shortcut, or hack, or cooking technique, you need to learn the technique."

It turns out that there's a crucial first step that will require some extra cutting to get the hack just right — but he remarks that if you're someone who's clumsy, or not good with knives, this is probably not the hack for you.

However if you get the trick right, it actually is totally worth it. "Is it perfect? No. Is it gonna work 99 percent of the time? Yeah. Is it easier than doing it another way? Definitely."

It's a life hack miracle!

Or just buy a garlic peeler.
