This week’s video features the Olivier Award-winning actress Lesley Manville as Helene Alving, the aggrieved wife and mother at the center of Ibsen’s family drama “Ghosts.” In this scene Helene recalls the pain she and her son endured because of her husband’s years of lies and affairs. In his review of the show, which opened on Sunday, Ben Brantley writes that Ms. Manville “charts her character’s varying repression and awareness with a scalpel-edged exactitude.” Directed by Richard Eyre, the production continues through May 3 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Harvey Theater.

Recent theater videos in this series include Tessa Ferrer in a scene from the play “Buzzer,” and Lena Hall singing “Falling Slowly.”

Coming soon: Peter Sarsgaard in a scene from “Hamlet” at Classic Stage.
