Jenny Campbell net worth Enter another new Dragon on the BBC’s Dragons Den; Jenny Campbell.

This article is about Jenny Campbell net worth, but also about her entrepreneurial journey that brought to her to join the ranks of successful entrepreneurs.

Jenny Campbell joins Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman and also new Dragon Tej Lalvani. This is the 15th series of the successful angel investor program where entrepreneurs pitch to the angel investors.

So why an article on Jenny Campbell net worth?

In a long line of entrepreneurs to date, I’ve written about leadership styles and net worth, but in this case I chosen to write about a subject that many are interested in…money and success as an entrepreneur. The reasons are two-fold:

  • I love writing about successful women in business, which Jenny Campbell certainly is.
  • Campbell has joined the dragon line up on my favourite TV program Dragons Den.

A woman entrepreneur. She uses the hashtag #bethebestyoucanbe on her website.

So where did Jenny Campbell’s career begin?

Jenny Campbell’s career began at Natwest bank. At the young age of just 16 she left school and joined to count cash and filled ATM machines with cash.

Campbell grew up in a family of business-focused bankers. There were no surprises when she entered the banking sector.

Staying in banking, she moved from Natwest and joined Royal Bank of Scotland bank.

Jenny Campbells ATM machine business…

YourCash ATM machine businessThis career move became the catalyst for her very first business when she formed part of the management buyout of YourCash in 2010. Yourcash was originally called Hanco ATM Systems when it was a part of RBS.

She was put in charge of the business and managed to turn it fortunes from a £7 million loss to a £7 million profit. Working as an intrapreneur in the business for 10 years, she earned her status as a successful entrapreneurial employee.

After the management buyout her equity share of the business was 75%, at which point she became a paper-millionaire. She talks to the FT about My First Million…”that never felt real to me“.

YourCash business was sold to Euronet for some £50 million, an American global provider of electronic payment and transaction processing solutions.

So this completed her circle, as she began filling ATM machines as a junior employee, and then owned a business offering ATM machines to businesses some 32 years later.

YourCash ATM machine business is thought to have a turnover of £30 million. The business now operates around 5,000 ATM machines across Europe.

What is the estimate of Jenny Campbell net worth?

There are no official figures to hand for Jenny Campbell’s worth. She is also private about her wealth. However, with what she made on YourCash and with her own personal assets, Campbell’s net worth is likely to be north of £40 million in 2017.

Drive, dedication and determination got me where I am today and it will get me where I am going in the future.” Jenny Campbell

I am sure Campbell will be putting some her personal fortune into new investments on the Dragons Den Show. Like her fellow dragons, she now has the opportunity to increase her personal wealth through investing in businesses on the show.

Jenny Campbell Dragons Den…

Jenny Campbell entering the Dragons Den with new-comer Tej Lalvani:

Jenny Campbell Dragons Den Entrepreneur

Jenny is a long time fan of Dragons Den and is clearly excited about joining the lineup in series 15 in 2017. She joins another new entrepreneur to the BBC’s show vitamin king  Tej Lalvani.

Campbell describes herself as “DDD Jenny“. These three “D’s” represent Drive, Dedication and Determination. In her own words “Drive, dedication and determination got me where I am today and it will get me where I am going in the future.”

Campbell has been awarded Vitalise Business Woman of The Year (see YouTube Video below). Her business moto is “Live by corporate standards, but breathe like entrepreneurs“.

From intrapreneur to entrepreneur. Campbell worked hard on turning the ATM business around whilst still in RBS ownership, working as an Intrapreneur.

So she now brings a wealth of experience of business and entrepreneurship to the den. It will be interesting to see how she fits in and it’s good to see another woman entrepreneur join the line-up.

Campbell’s words about becoming a dragon on BBC’s Dragons Den “Gosh I’m feeling excited, looking forward to meeting the new Dragons.” Play the video below to see a bit more:

Jenny Campbell’s first dragon investment…

On the very first show of series 15 Jenny Campbell secures her first angel investment. For a modest £25,000 for 6% of the equity in a voucher code business, she shares the investment with new-comer Tej Lalvani and relatively new Touker Suleyman too.

The two friends from school entrepreneurs Ben Corrigan and Johnny Plain were originally asking for £75,000 for 15% equity for their voucher code business Pouch.

In a rare full-house, all five dragons pitched for the deal. Peter Jones offered all of the money for 25% of the business and Deborah Meaden offered all of the money for a 20% stake. But the longest serving dragons Peter and Deborah were left licking their wounds. The two new dragons Campbell and Lalvani with relative newcomer Touker Suleyman took the deal.

Jenny Campbell now has her first opportunity to invest some of her wealth in an online business. The two entrepreneurs were keen to worth with Campbell, seeing that she had more time on her hands as the new time-rich dragon.

An inspiring woman entrepreneur…

Campbell is a role model to women. Her journey is inspirational to all entrepreneurs.

Jenny Campbell’s most challenging career period…

In the same FT article referred to above, Campbell explains her challenges bringing up children whilst working. Her husband is a pilot in the RAF, so was away overseas. This mean that she had to look after her clients at the bank, whilst at the same time being mother to two children.

At the time they could not afford to employ a nanny and there wasn’t any family close by either. What got her through was being highly organised and working long days.

Jenny Campbell speaking career and charity work…

In-line with her move to become a Dragon on Dragons Den, Campbell is involved with a number of charities and projects that support entrepreneurs too. One such entrepreneural project she’s involved with is Young Enterprise. Young Enterprise make connections between school and the world of work. This charity enable young people to develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed.

Another peoples charity she supports is Tomorrows People. This is a charity that has helped nearly half a million people in their journey into work.

Campbell’s speaking career has taken her to speak at Management Today. She was keynote speaker at their Inspiring Women in Business event in 2016.

I’m sure that her career in speaking will take a boost after appearing on Dragons Den. I am sure also that her appearance fee will rise too..adding nicely to her already healthy net worth.

Jenny Campbell’s life away from business…

Campbell is married to her RAF husband and lives in rural Suffolk. Campbell has two sons. She loves gin and refers to her nick name as “Jen & Tonic“. When asked about he investment that got away, she would have loved to offer on the investment Craft Gin Club. Renaming it “Jen Craft Club” and claiming: “that would have been mine,” in a BBC interview program introducing the new dragons, herself and fellow newbie Tej Lalvani.

Where is Jenny Campbell from?

Originally Campbell is from Cheshire and was born in Hyde in October 1961. Her first car was a Mini Van, which she explains the inside was decked in fur. Her parents were bankers
