Diary for week ending 19 Aug 17

My week started in hospital from where I blogged daily But Tuesday I was home.  So Wednesday is back to retired normality wondering how much fitter I
am thanks to my excess of two weeks in hospital with congestive heart failure.

While the family was at RHS Wisley I cut the grass, picked fruit, weeded and repaired a light sp not an inactive day my first out of hospital. Excellent IPC weekly prayer tonight.

Prayer meeting last night we prayed round our IPC churches and church plants, 10 in England, four in Scotland. I note our brethren in EPCEW list 13 in England and 3 in Wales. I favour a merger. What we have in common is so much greater than our differences.

I did this before then dropped it after the last time I was in hospital. Having resumed daily in hospital where one has more time I shall now see if I can keep up each week.

Thursday morning the nurse came round and dressed my legs. She says exudate is now minimal so there bandages will stay on six days. The downside is difficulty in showering and itch which interrupts sleep. After nurse, games with the family. Ethan the youngest triumphant at Uno. I treated them all to MacDonalds in Greenford. Back home I watched the first day/night Test in England with centuries from Cook and Root putting the Windies to the sword. But that was as nothing to seeing the tail end to Yorkshire's record breaking 20:20 innings with Lyth breaking the English innings record and scoring the third highest ever in the world in 20:20. We had Jonathan and Miriam join us for Indian takeaway supper. I negotiated a 10% discount ordering 10 main courses plus sundries for 11 of us. After the meal the Cambridge party left for home as did the Greenford four so the household was back to the usual three of us and Katy should be able to have a rest from hospitality.

I now have 14 different drugs to take each day plus two more when needed. So I am thankful for free NHS prescriptions and happy to live in UK not USA.

We should be moved house by early November so lots to do. Yesterday we sorted through old vinyl classical LPs and are thinking of selling on Ebay. Any advice? Will not try Amazon as they messed me about over book selling years ago. Judge, jury and executioners with no appeals.

Cooked Nyonya for dinner - told it is Chinese, Indonesia, Malasian fusion. Loved it. Then a visit from a very kind Ugandan friend.

Saturday 19 Aug 17

At home. Strimmed grass front and back. Called on neighbours to give news of health and our planned move. The Burroughs, our Jonathan's inlaws were with us for lunch and tea. For lunch Katy cooked a most excellent pork chop casserole.
